Games for Good: DGM Mario Kart Tournament

Written by  //  April 13, 2011  //  Events  //  No comments

I’ve spent the last week or three thinking about a topic for our first blog post.  Something weighty and philosophical, to be sure – the meaning of play, the importance of games, defining a game museum – all worthy topics. But instead, here’s something closer to the center of it all – a chance to play games!

Our friends at Backstage Coworking in Palo Alto are hosting an event for us to raise some money, play some games, hang out with friends, and throw virtual banana peels on the track.  Mark April 29th on your calendar and join us at our first Mario Kart Tournament.  Food, prizes and game memoranilia displays are on offer.

Funds raised will go to support our upcoming presentations at Maker Faire, PAX Prime, and a mini-exhibit we’re planning for the Sunnyvale Public Library.

So here’s our philosophical observation after all: Playing games is a very good thing to do.  Doing it with friends is even better.  And doing it to benefit preserving gaming and game culture is the very best.  See you there!
