The Persona series, which spun off of the Shin Megami Tensei series, is an adventure game series with a focus on summoning “personas” in combat, where characters unleash sides of their personalities with supernatural abilities.
The series is somewhat tied together, especially Persona 3, Persona 3: FES, and Persona 4.
Persona 3 FES: A deluxe version of Persona 3. Having a horror theme, the player is a student at a school who can switch personas – while his/her dormmates can only manifest one. Organized like a school club, they are the few people who can be awake during a mysterious 25th hour where supernatural forces are unleashed. Building social ties unleashes new powers for the protagonist and allows for branching plots and customization.
Persona 3: FES also contained a followup game called The Answer that was a sequel to the game.
